چکیده

In the context of the dispersive model for non-perturbative corrections, we extend the leading renormalon subtraction to NNLO for the thrust distribution in e + e annihilation. Within this framework, using a NNLL+NNLO perturbative description and including bottom-quark mass effects to NLO, we analyse data in the centre-of-mass energy range sqrts=14-206 GeV in view of a simultaneous determination of the strong coupling constant and the non-perturbative parameter 0. The fits are performed by matching the resummed and fixed-order predictions both in the R and the log-R matching schemes. The final values in the R scheme are s(MZ) = 0.1131+0.0028 −0.0022, 0(2GeV ) = 0.538+0.102 −0.047. Within this framework, using a NNLL+NNLO perturbative description and including bottom quark mass effects to NLO, we analyse data in the centre-of-mass energy range √ s = 14 − 206 GeV in view of a simultaneous determination of the strong coupling constant and the non-perturbative parameter α0. The fits are performed by matching the resummed and fixed-order predictions both in the R and the log-R matching schemes. The final values in the R scheme are αs(MZ) = 0.1131 +0.0028 −0.0022, α0(2 GeV) = 0.538 +0.102 −0.047.

Power Corrections in Deep Inelastic Event Shape Variables

Results are presented for the leading power-suppressed (1/Q) contributions to shape variables in deep inelastic lepton scattering. These are then combined with available leading order perturbative estimates. INTRODUCTION The increasing quantity of data from HERA has given a great boost to the testing of QCD via determinations of the strong coupling constant and the possibility of observing, ove...

Renormalon resummation and exponentiation of soft and collinear gluon radiation in the thrust distribution∗

The thrust distribution in e+e− annihilation is calculated exploiting its exponentiation property in the two-jet region t = 1 − T ≪ 1. We present a general method (DGE) to calculate a large class of logarithmically enhanced terms, using the dispersive approach in renormalon calculus. Dressed Gluon Exponentiation is based on the fact that the exponentiation kernel is associated primarily with a ...

Event Shapes and Power Corrections in Ô Dis H1 Collaboration

Deep-inelastic Ô scattering data, taken with the H1 detector at HERA, are used to analyze the event shape variables thrust, jet broadening, jet mass, parameter and two kinds of differential two-jet rate over a large range of the four-momentum transfer É between Î and ½¼¼ Î. Here, É is taken to be the relevant energy scale for these processes. The É dependence of the mean values is matched with ...

Event Shapes and Power Corrections in ep DIS

Deep-inelastic ep scattering data, taken with the H1 detector at HERA, are used to study the event shape variables thrust, jet broadening, jet mass, C parameter, and two kinds of differential two-jet rates over a large range of “relevant energy” Q between 7GeV and 100GeV. The Q dependence of the mean values is fit to second order calculations of perturbative QCD applying power law corrections p...
